Hailing from Berwick, Ont., Brian 'Ho Hum' Meldrum is one of six lucky players with the hometown advantage heading into the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship.
Meldrum, a racing fan for over 45 years, is a regular at the races and loves to play the ponies. He will be headed to Rideau Carleton Raceway on November 8 to test his skills against top players from across the country in hopes of winning the $25,000 grand prize.
Trot Insider got the inside scoop on the local participant.
Meldrum is a horseplayer to the core. His plans, should he happen to score the grand prize, is to play the horses.
