One of the only female competitors in the 2009 Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship is Pat Salter of Arthur, Ont., and she will be looking to be the first female champion in the history of the TCNHC.
This year, the championship will move to Rideau Carleton Raceway and will maybe move to a female champion as well. On November 8, players from across the country will head to Ottawa to try their hardest to take home the $25,000 grand prize.
Can Salter get the job done and represent the ladies? Only time will tell. Here's the inside scoop on Salter:
Salter has never been to Rideau Carleton and is looking forward to testing her handicapping skills against the best that Canada has to offer. She’s got big plans should she happen to cash the biggest ticket of her life, she’d like to buy a new car and retire from her job.
