Pat Ryan Passes

Longtime harness racing industry participant Patrick 'Pat' Ryan of London, Ont. passed away in the arms of his family on June 12, 2015 at the age of 60.

Pat was connected to a number of recognizable stakes winners, including 2004 Confederation Cup winner Sparkler, 2007 Jugette winner Western Graduate, as well as Parlee Beach and ‎Countryview Miss.

‎Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Hilda and his brother James. He has nine brothers and sisters. Patrick is survived by his wife Susan of 39 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Josh and Rochelle (Kendra and Kyle) and his pride and joy, his grandson Alexander Joshua. 

The family wishes to thank the medical staff involved in his care. 

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 16th, from 7 - 9 pm at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St.) Memorial Service to follow on Wednesday, June 17th at 11:00 am in the NEEDHAM FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a special charity of your choice. ‎

Pat was a great friend who is going to be missed significantly, we will always remember him as the kind, loving person he truly was. He will also be missed in the horse racing world. Our deepest condolences are with the Ryan family.

Pat was a total gentleman and I always remember his smile when I would see him as a young harness fan at the Western Fair Raceway. The Fraleigh family extend their condolences to the Ryan family.

Absolutely shocked to hear this. One of the kindest, nicest and most intelligent people in the business. He always made a point of coming over to say hello when I saw him in the paddock even when he was busy. My deepest condolences to his family...
