Mulinix: "Let's Race!"

Trainer Jim Mulinix provided an update on Cane Pace morning line favourite A Rocknroll Dance heading into tomorrow’s stakes final at Tioga Downs.

"Well, he got a bye last week so that saved us an eight hour ship out here [last week for the eliminations], which didn't disappoint me," said Mullinix in a video interview with Tioga Downs. "He's been having fun out in the field eating grass everyday. He seems to feel good. He's a good shipper so we're here and ready to go."

The Meadowlands Pace, Hempt and Battle of Brandywine champion drew post six and will face the 1:49.2 elimination winner Heston Blue Chip, who drew the outside post nine starting spot in the opening leg of Pacing's Triple Crown.

"Yannick [Gingras] was pleased with the draw," said Mulinix. "'Heston' is an awful good horse and I'm happy to draw inside of him. I guess they better tighten their throat latch and let's race!"

When asked where A Rocknroll Dance ranks among the tough Glamour Boy division, Mullinix pointed to his consistency from week to week as a factor placing him at the top of the crop.

"I would say right now he's probably the most solid, consistent one," he said. "Wherever he draws, every week he shows up and we've never dodged anybody. And we've raced every week. Luckily, he's stayed healthy and we'll just go as long as we can."

Below is the field for the $322,716 Cane Pace. First race post time at Tioga Downs on Monday, September 3 is 1:30 p.m.
