On "Back to the Track" night, Saturday, August 14 Monticello Raceway and Tioga Downs have joined forces to offer the betting public a series of wagers, which is being dubbed “Dueling Doubles”
.
“The bet will be a daily double with the only difference being one of the races will be from Monticello Raceway and the other from Tioga Downs,” noted track assistant general manager, Shawn Wiles. “We thank the New York State Racing and Wagering Board for giving us a chance to institute this unique wager.”
In an effort to create extra excitement on "Back to the Track" night, four dueling doubles are being offered. They will encompass the first, third, fifth and seventh races from both racetracks.
According to the Director of Mutuels and Simulcasting, Maureen Flynn, Scientific Games, as tote vendor for Monticello Raceway, will handle the wagers which will be designated as a separate event code.
“Besides being offered at each of the participating tracks the dueling doubles will be also be available at all off-track wagering sites,” Flynn added.
