Marc St. Louis Jr. has been fined $5,000 and suspended for more than one year following actions that undermine public confidence in the integrity of racing

According to rulings posted by the United States Trotting Association, St. Louis made false and misleading statements regarding the death of Alex E Mel. The ruling states that St. Louis "did admit to the death, burning and burial of the horse and in doing so he did attempt to conceal, tamper and destroy evidence in the case by improperly burning and burying the horse in violation of state law."
The Michigan Office of the Racing Commissioner suspended St. Louis one year and fined him $3,500 for his actions.
St. Louis received a subsequent $1,500 fine for possession of hypodermic needles, syringes and/or injectable and/or other drugs. St Louis was "observed by MORC personnel using a hypodermic syringe to inject a drug or foreign substance into the horse Rising Artist which was entered to race."
In addition, St. Louis was also issued a 30-day suspension for being in the grandstand of a racetrack while under suspension.
It's not fair when guys like
It's not fair when guys like that put drugs in horses he should never be able to race again. The people that don't cheat could make good money if there were no cheaters. He should of got a one hundred thousand dollar fine and coming out to race again.

who is so concern with a horse welfare ( new urging rule) not to recognize and
impose the live time ban is a shame.

Racing Commissioner does not grasp the level of this horiffic act on the part of a person who should never ever have anything to do with Harness Racing again.

Wow!! Pathetic excuse for punishment! Should never be allowed to even own a horse more less be able to race again. Shows you how much the welfare of an animal is worth to the Racing Commission.
Another black eye for
Another black eye for harness racing. Is there no end to what some people will do to cover up their cheating in their attempts to win? This man, and I use the term loosely, should be banned for life! What is the Racing Commissioner thinking?
