"Our History For Draws Hasn't Been Good"

Mark Steacy's words couldn't have been more ominous heading into yesterday's post position draw for the $1 million Meadowlands Pace

.

Foreclosure N, Steacy's star three-year-old pacing colt, had already experienced a 10-hole start in a million-dollar race this season: Mohawk Racetrack's $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, where he paced in 1:50, finished fourth, and earned $120,000 in purses.

The son of Rocknroll Hanover was a strong second in his Meadowlands Pace elimination last weekend. With driver Tim Tetrick in the racebike, Foreclosure N followed cover and closed with a 26-second final quarter-mile to finish just one-length behind the victorious Custard The Dragon.

"Post position is going to make a big difference," an article by The Kingston Whig-Standard quoted Steacy as saying before the Meadowlands Pace post position draw. "Our history for draws hasn't been good. Hopefully it is this time,"

And what post did Foreclosure N draw? Post 10.

Although the racing gods don't seem to be on Steacy and Foreclosure N's side right now, anything can happen this Saturday night when the 'Pace' heads postward at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Steacy discussed Foreclosure N's elimination performance in The Kingston Whig-Standard article, and conveyed Tetrick's feeling on how the colt raced, as well.
