Former Montreal Canadiens GM, Serge Savard, a member of Quebec Jockey Club's Board, is also welcomed the decision.

"There is no doubt that we are in the right direction to revive horse racing in Quebec. We recognize that we must go step by step and climb one step at a time. But the one we have climbed is important."

The Hippodrome de Quebec will offering 20 programs from June 19, every Sunday at 1 p.m. until July 10 and will continue with two programs a week thereafter on Saturdays and Sundays, always at 1 p.m. Starting August 7, there will be a short break to allow the presentation of the Expo Quebec (Agricultural Exhibition) through September 3, when horse racing will resume every Saturday and Sundays until September 25.
