Forget about your regular training cart. Drop the “t” and you have harness racing’s latest high-tech training tool, the Kurtsystems horseshoe shaped car.

An article in the Barrie Examiner highlights the revolutionary Turkish training car that allegedly eliminates inconsistencies throughout the training trip and lowers the risk of injuries in horses related to overexertion and muscular acidosis. The speed of the vehicle and horse are controlled by the computer systems, which also monitor the horse’s heart rates, respiratory and oxygen intakes, lactate acid levels and perspiration loss.

Sheltered from the unfriendly elements, horsemen can keep an eye their horse’s gait inside the vehicle via video cameras and articulated sensors.
