Pursuant to the resignation of president William O’Donnell, at the OHHA Board of Directors meeting on April 30, 2009, and in accordance with OHHA Bylaw No. 3, Article 14, clause 14.04, Darryl MacArthur announced
today via release that he has made the transition into the role of OHHA president.
MacArthur states in the release that, "as such I wish to assure our membership that there will be no changes affecting members’ benefits; group benefits, RRSP, disability, and insurance programs will stay in place as they currently are."
The release states that in the near future membership meetings will be scheduled to provide opportunities for nominations to fill the vacancies created by the directors that resigned following the April 30, 2009 meeting.

It makes me sick just to read this announcement. The railroad job that Bill O'Donnell received last week is a slap in the face to every OHHA member who truly believed that our association was on the right path to signing a contract with WEG and to rectifying the tarnished reputation that OHHA sported thanks to Jim Whelan, John Walzak and friends, some of whom sat at the OHHA table and some who did their dirty work from behind the scenes. The sooner OHHA goes though a complete overhaul (from top to bottom) gets rid of the likes of Earl Lennox and becomes a transparent, accountable, credible and effective association in Ontario, the horsepeople are no better off with this new "regime" than we were with the last one. On second thought, just get rid of the Whelan supporters, get Bill and the eight directors who resigned back along with the few who supported the good work that Bill was trying to do and maybe, just maybe, there will be an OHHA for the future. If that is not possible, let's just start another association for the good people of Ontario.
