The withdrawal for fans of Race Night on The Score is about to come to an end. On Monday night, Woodbine Entertainment's two-hour program will relaunch with new branding as Bet Night Live debuts

.

Trot Radio's Norm Borg talks to Senior Television Producer Rob Platts for some insight into the new show, which on the harness racing side will feature Chad Rozema and The Score's Laura Diakun as co-hosts, Greg Blanchard as the analyst in addition to Hall of Fame jockey Sandy Hawley.

"We're not going to be offending any of our current viewers, it is a tweak of the show," states Platts. "We're trying to attract new customers...the viewership numbers stayed fairly regular. As a business, we want to attract new customers."

With the 123Racing contest out of the picture, Platts and Borg discuss the nightly contests through HorsePlayer Interactive and the payoff of a possible trip to Las Vegas at the end of the contest as well as what people can expect from the show on a nightly basis.

Episode 121 - Rob Platts, Producer of Bet Night Live

The new monday night show was a big disappointment. It seemed so amateurish, too much
talking between themselves and although I like Laura ok, I would rather have
someone who knows about racing , like Renee or some other expert. The " 123" contest was good as many people could play without spending money, ( many people don't have
enough for food, never mind racing.) The original show was much better, with
CHAD and the usual " gang". I also don't think Sandy Hawley is any help in talking
to jockeys etc. he does not have " the gift of the gab!"
Bring back the old days!
Catzy

Poor name change - should have stayed the same - " Race Night ".Betting is only part of racing - not the whole thing .

I still don't know how the powers at be are going to attract the new viewers(bettors)...so far the only people that know about this "tweak" are the loyal viewers and i doubt you are going to convince most of them to now join HPI and drop 10-50 bux a week.

I want this to work..i really do, but they need to focus on the people who are inclined to bet online...try advertising on Pokerstars or Fulltilt poker or other online gambling sites...they even have commercials and shows like Poker after dark on TV...I just think more needs to be done in order to get this format to the mainstream

You tweaked it all right. Ill stick to playing 123 for free in New Jersey.

We really enjoyed race night on the score, and it is too bad you want to "tweak it"
I always watched to see if I could be the first to enter to win the Sirius Radio
contest. The interaction between the hosts and drivers, trainers and owners was part
of the interest of the show. You should try having a guest be it groom, trainer, driver
or owner each week.No matter how much people admire Sandy Hawley I don't feel he is
the best representative for Standardbred Racing.

I think you should have left race night on the score alone. I really liked the program and italways stayed tuned to try and be the first one to win the Sirius Radio contest.
I think very highly of Sandy Hawley as a Jockey and Thoroughbred representative, but he is not for standardbred racing. If you have to "tweak it"as you said try getting more people involved in the industry from grooms to owners.

OKAY - IT'S BACK. HERE'S AN IDEA - HOW ABOUT GETTING THE STAR TV GUIDE TO LIST THE SHOW ON THEIR SPORTS PAGE EVERY WEEK. I'VE NEVER SEEN IT THERE (ONLY IN THE DAILY LISTINGS) BUT HAVE SEEN THOROUGHBRED RACING LISTED FROM TIME TO TIME. I'VE TOLD A FEW PEOPLE ABOUT MONDAY NIGHT RACING AND THEY HAD NO IDEA IT WAS EVER ON TV.

Tweaked!!!From being free to 24 bucks!Bringing in a thoroughbred guy to talk harness racing!

Nah,i don't think you will "offending" any of your current viewers! You couldn't give it away for FREE,now your going to charge!!
