Horses Perish In Kingston Blaze

Trot Insider has learned that a barn fire in Kingston, Ont. on Sunday, May 11 claimed the lives of multiple horses, at least one of which was a Standardbred.

Danish Sarah, a four-year-old Majestic Son mare owned by Matt Harvey, was one of the horses that perished in the blaze.

Trot Insider has also learned that a riding horse and at least two other Standardbreds lost their lives in the fire. At this point, details regarding how many horses lost their lives in the blaze have not been released.

Details regarding the situation are few at this time, but a brief article by Station 14 Kingston explains that Kingston Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a fire at the barn, located near Perth Road and McAdoos Lane, at roughly 12:30 p.m. The report states that the barn was fully engulfed when the fire department got on scene.
