Trot Insider has learned that 2011 Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame inductee Steve Condren is ready to return to the race bike.

Condren, who in his career has steered his mounts to over 6,600 wins, last participated in a pari-mutuel contest in November of 2012.

After having battled cancer since the spring of 2011, Condren, whose green and gold silks have been a mainstay on the Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit for decades, has been given a clean bill of health and is eager to get back into the sulky where he is most comfortable.

The resident of Milton, Ont. is back in his home province after having wintered in Florida, which has become an annual migration for the 55-year-old in recent years.

Condren, one of the most respected reinsmen in North American harness racing, has guided his mounts to over $110-million in purse earnings over the course of his decorated driving career.
