Boffin (Chris Page) returned to the Miami Valley winner’s circle following the $22,000 Open Trot on Tuesday afternoon (March 26), his first visit there in six weeks. The veteran campaigner narrowly held off Walter White (John DeLong) in 1:55 after cutting fractions of :28.3, :57.3 and 1:26.3 on the front end. Penn (Jason Brewer) grabbed the show dough in the full field of nine for the weekly trotting feature.

A seven-year-old son of Donato Hanover, Boffin won for the 34th time in his career and surpassed the $400,000 earnings plateau with the triumph. Trainer Anette Lorentzon co-owns the winner with ACI Stuteri AB and Kjell Johansson.

A pair of second-leg divisions of the Omar Hiteman Memorial Series were also contested on Tuesday with Sir Bradford (Trace Tetrick) and Hot Rod Dylan (Mike Oosting) capturing their respective splits.

Sir Bradford topped Heracer (Chris Page) and Sunny’s Bro (Greg Grismore) in 1:54.4, with all three of the top finishers advancing to next week’s $17,500 final. The sophomore son of Ohio sire Big Bad John now has four wins and $15,644 in earnings for the Parent Racing Stable LLC. He is trained by Doug Hinklin.

Hot Rod Dylan ran his win streak to six in a dominating 1:53.2 mile over Bamski (Greg Grismore) and Velocity Sub Z (Mark Evers). Nelson Willis trains the late-blooming four-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere for Shirley LeVin. After making just four starts with one show finish and $1,740 in earnings as a two-year-old, Hot Rod Dylan missed his entire three-year-old season before impressively bursting on the scene in Ohio in late January and remaining razor sharp ever since.
