"If you look at the history of harness racing horses and harness racing, people and horses were much more closely involved in work, transportation and society at large."

The very dedicated members of the production team of the upcoming harness racing documentary film "I Am, A Harness Racing Horse," wish the harness racing community a very Happy St. Patrick's Day with a video themed for the holiday.

"As automobiles, tractors and other inventions diminished the contact between people and horses, the close connections between people and horses became replaced by lack of knowledge and personal contact. And that separation is greater than ever in today's world." notes Monica Thors. "If people are not engaging with harness racing as an event, is it not in our best interest to present and promote harness racing and harness racing horses in a different and engaging way?"

"That is exactly what the harness racing documentary film "I Am, A Harness Racing Horse" is produced to do," continued Thors, "show the positive aspects of the harness racing sport, the many wonderful characteristics of Standardbred harness racing horses, the care they receive and the bonds of affection between harness racing horses and their grooms, trainers, drivers and owners."
