NDC Profile: Paul MacDonell

Fresh off a tremendous 2008 campaign, Canada's reigning Driver of the Year, Paul MacDonell, is looking to be crowned the National Driving Champion

and represent the Great White North in the World Driving Championship.

The WDC will be taking place in Norway from May 14-20.

MacDonell piloted several standouts in '08, including superstar Somebeachsomewhere and other O’Brien winners Elusive Desire, Lantern Kronos and Define the World. MacDonell also won the Ontario Regional Driving Championship, and will thus compete for the NDC crown at Fraser Downs on March 21.

MacDonell was kind enough to divulge to Trot Insider some of his 'faves' both on and off the track.

Favourite Horse of all Time – Somebeachsomewhere
Favourite Movie – Forrest Gump
Favourite Actor – Mark Wahlberg
Favourite Racetrack – Mohawk
Favourite Food – Seafood (any kind!)
Career Goals – To drive in as many stake races as possible.
Hobbies – Golf

With career earnings in excess of $90 million don’t let his cool exterior fool you, MacDonell is a fierce competitor and will be bringing his 'A' game to BC.
