It has been reported that Jennifer Brunner, Ohio's secretary of state, wants to find out who is funding a group which is trying to derail the effort to bring video lottery terminals to the state's seven racetracks.

According to NBC's Columbus affiliate, the organizers of letohiovote.org have been subpoenaed.

Brunner wants to find out who is supplying $1.55 million in funding to the organization, which is pushing for a public referendum on the issue. The report states that the monies come from the Virginia-based corporation New Models, which does not disclose donors

The article states that a spokesman for letohiovote.org has said that campaign finance laws have been fully abided by and that any "fishing expedition" would certainly waste tax dollars and time.
