Fraser Downs' vice president of racing operations, Chuck Keeling, was honoured last night in Vancouver, as he was named the Surrey Board of Trade’s Business Person of the Year.

More than 400 people attended the event where Keeling, 37, was honoured.

Keeling has been a fixture in the Western Canadian standardbred industry for years. As an article by the Surrey Leader explains, Keeling took his first job at Fraser Downs selling tickets at age of eight.

In addition to being on the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation's board of directors and being involved with racehorse retirement program Greener Pastures, Keeling is also a Standardbred Canada track director representing the Western Region.
