Contrary to the decreased wagering seen by so many North American harness tracks, playing the ponies in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, has taken off yet again. The recently relaunched Northside Downs – where Muscle Hill mentor Greg Peck made his start – is proving that the local community is hankering for horse racing, a need evidenced by impressive turnouts at their modest facility.
