n December 13, 2012, ballots were cast by members for amendments to By-Law #1 and #2. They were counted by the Returning Officer, Bruce G. Drysdale, C.A. & Associates. All proposals that were put forward by the Board (By-Law #1) and Breeders Committee (By-Law #2) were approved by the membership. It’s been fairly quiet at Standardbred Canada over the last month with the holidays just behind us and a New Year just beginning. The Board of Directors has meetings closer to the end of the month along with the annual O’Brien Awards night. This is a very special night that honors the many men, women and horses that made our sport special in 2012. Ken Middleton will be co-hosting the event again along with newcomer Norm Borg from Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Some familiar faces are back again as nominees this year, including Casie Coleman, Scott Zeron, Jeff Gillis, Daylon Magician, American Jewel, and Androvette to name a few. There are many new nominees as well. Check out the Standardbred Canada website to see a full slate of this year’s contenders.
