Ramona Smith, 83, of Auburn, Maine, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2019 after a brief illness.
Born in Lewiston, Maine, on December 9, 1935, Ramona was the daughter of Alfred and Lucile Leber and wife of the late Russell Smith.
She worked for several years as a telephone operator and a secretary at Lewiston Raceway. She was actively involved in harness racing as an owner and trainer until 2018. Ramona and her late husband had a horse shipping business for many years, shipping all around the country.
Ramona is survived by her daughter, Donna; grandson, Dane (Jamie) Krauth and their children, Ashton, Kylie and Marieanne; step-children; and many nieces and nephews.
Ramona is gone but not forgotten by those who loved her.
