Trot Insider has learned that former trainer/driver William 'Billy' Shea has passed away suddenly in Carlisle
, Ont. at the age of 63.
Shea leaved behind his loved one of 35 years, Shirley Doncaster, family and friends.
A private ceremony will be taking place.
Shea worked for Ron Waples for 10 years before moving on to the employment of Gary Baker for five years. He had most recently been working with trainer Ben Wallace.
Shea was the USTA Groom of the Year in 1995-96 and took care of horses the likes of Sara Loren Rd and Rank Hanover.
