Silverhill Shadow Favoured Thursday

Silverhill Shadow will be contesting the feature race this Thursday night (October 1) at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park. He will be taking a major class drop in the dash, thus he has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favourite for trainer-driver Terry Gallant.

The four-year-old will start from Post 1 in the program’s feature dash, which has been carded as Race 11. Silverhill Shadow is heading into Thursday’s tilt off a fifth-place finish that he recorded in the Johnny Conroy Memorial Invitational at Truro Raceway this past Sunday.

Silverhill Shadow has banked more than $213,000 in career purses and is owned by Silverhill of Tignish. He will face seven rivals, including main competitors Van Zant (to be driven by Ron Matheson) from Post 4 and Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) with Post 7. Other entries include The Big Bite (Mike Stevenson), Balanchine (Gilles Barrieau), Beckenbauer (Jason Hughes), Superbo Hanover (Gordie Hennessey) and Cheyenne Ford (Kenny Arsenault).

The evening’s $1,550 trot class has been carded as Race 4 and I Aint No Lady has been installed as the morning line favourite.

First-race post time for the 12-dash card is 7 p.m.
