Eight three-year-old pacing colts were entered today (Tuesday, September 11) for the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold elimination scheduled to be contested on Saturday, September 15 at Mohawk Racetrack.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elimination than can compete in the final, the elimination will be cancelled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week. Therefore, the Gold elimination for three-year-old pacing colts scheduled for September 15 at Mohawk is cancelled.
The $130,000 Gold final will be held on Saturday, September 22 as scheduled, and the post positions will be drawn on Saturday, September 15, when the final would normally have been drawn.
According to OSS rules concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the cancelled elimination will be distributed equally between the eight horses that entered the event.
