Hail The Taxi will seek to fend off seven foes in the feature pace Thursday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The 12-dash card gets underway at 7 p.m.

Marc Campbell will drive Hail The Taxi, a four-year-old son of Art Major, from Post 2 in the $1,900 feature for owners Brian Evans, Randy Van Meer and Lynda MacSwain. Darren Trainor conditions the pacer, who was a winner in 1:56.2 his last start out. Race analyst Les MacIsaac also places his faith in Hail The Taxi to land in the CDP winner’s circle.

“He's been steadily climbing back up the class ladder as he seems to be regaining his confidence,” MacIsaac said, “And last time out earned a win in what happens to be the fastest on the page this year. Don't rule out a repeat.”

Also in the event is Sterling Seelster (Mark Bradley), Tyber Champ (Rocky Schurman), Mcjestic (Corey MacPherson), SA Summers Luck (Gary Chappell), Van Zant (Ron Matheson), Cambest Kisser (Jason Hughes) and Rymar Sporty (Ken Murphy).

Juarez Cyclone is picked to win in Race 3 for trainer/driver Paul Morrison of Cardigan, PEI, who co-owns with John Breau of Shediac Cape, NB. He will face off against seven rivals including Lace (Brian Andrew) and fellow Morrison trainees, Mile Hill Belle (Corey MacPherson) and Oysterbed Margaret (Brian MacPhee).

Glencove Uday will be trying to get the job done in Race 5 from Post 1 for driver MacPherson and owner/trainer Carl Bagnall of Stratford, PEI. The seven-year-old daughter of Bo W has been winless so far this season but knocking on the door nearly every start. Her competition in the compact field of six comes from Sandhill Angel (Kenny Arsenault) and Dunmore Alpha (Ted Smallwood).

The back-up pace lines up in race 12 with Rash B Havior (Michael Peters) favoured off the rail against Artners In Crime (Ron Matheson) and Painted Pony (MacPhee).
