With the entry box for the William Wellwood Memorial and Peaceful Way stakes set to close on Tuesday morning, Aug. 15, Woodbine has announced $50,000 consolations will be offered for both two-year-old trot events.
The eliminations for the William Wellwood and Peaceful Way will take place this Saturday, Aug. 19 at Mohawk Park followed by the rich finals on Saturday, Aug. 26. Should enough horses enter, the $50,000 consolations will also take place on Aug. 26.
The William Wellwood for two-year-old trotters has an estimated final purse of $640,000 and offers a free slot in the Mohawk Million to the winner. The Peaceful Way for two-year-old filly trotters has an estimated final purse of $400,000.
The entry box for both events closes on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
