Tim Case Passes

Trainer Timothy 'Tim' Daniel Case, brother of driver Walter Case Jr., passed away on Saturday, July 28 at age 44.

Tim, of Middletown, New York, was born in Lewiston, Maine on December 31, 1967. Taught by his father, he jogged his first horse at age six. He went on to become an excellent and renowned race horse trainer all across the U.S. In his career, he trained over 1,700 winners with purses worth more than $9.5 million. In his most successful season, 2007, horses trained by Tim earned nearly $2 million. Locally, Tim was the leading trainer at Yonkers Raceway for three seasons, from 2003 to 2005.

Beloved husband of Dolores Domenique Basilone-Case. Devoted son of Carol (Meira) Case and the late Walter H. Case. Loving brother of Walter Case (Luann), Steven Case and Kelly Case-Ingraham (David). Tim is also survived by his loving mother-in-law and dear friend, C.C. Pecora, his father-in-law, Sal Basilone, aunt, Kathy Aube and family, good friend and lifelong supporter, Steve Ralph and family, many nieces and nephews and his two faithful dogs, Xavier and Jeremy.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home (107 Yonkers Ave.). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4 at St. Casimir's Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment is private.
