Fan Club To GRR For Industry Day

The 'I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club' will be setting up camp at the much anticipated Industry Day at Grand River Raceway on Monday, August 1 beginning at

11:30 a.m.

Visit the Fan Club booth between noon and 1:00 p.m. and have your photo taken with two of the youngest superstars of the Faces of Racing campaign, Doug McNair and Scott Zeron. Then, sign up for the Fan Club for your chance to win some great Fan Club prizes. We will also have the brand new line of I love Canadian Harness Racing merchandise on display and available for sale.

Industry Day at Grand River is always a must-attend on the racing calendar. Young racing fans can look forward to face painting, balloon artists, a bouncy castle, crafts and colouring contests, pony rides, and the ever-popular Bouncy Pony Stakes and Mascot Race. Also, get your photo taken with the Ontario Sires Stakes Celebrity Horse, Paula Seelster.

Enjoy special guest appearances from the likes of the Fergus Pipe band, Stocrest Percherons, and racing broadcast duo extraordinaire, Ken Middleton and Greg Blanchard. Don’t forget to enter to win fantastic prizes, such as an unforgettable trip for two to New York and New Jersey for the 2011 World Driving Championship and Hambletonian with $250 spending money.

What about the racing, you ask? Industry Day boasts both the $300,000 Battle of Waterloo for three-year-old pacing colts and the $150,000 Battle of The Belles for the fairer sex, as well as nine other action-packed races which will make up the $550,000 + card.

Also, enter the free handicapping tournament for your chance to win $1,000 and a spot in the $25,000 Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship at Western Fair in November.

There’s something for everyone at Industry Day. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. and racing will kick off at 1:30 p.m.
