The Meadows wishes to remind horsepeople that the box for the $650,000 (estimated) Delvin Miller Adios will close at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19. For all other races drawn that day, the box will close at 9:00 a.m.
Eliminations for the Adios, each of which will carry a purse of $50,000, are set for Saturday, July 23. The final of the 'Pace for the Orchids,' the highlight of Grand Circuit action at the Meadows, will take place Saturday, July 30, when a $50,000 Adios consolation also will be featured.
As part of Adios Week excitement, the Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association are offering four Open events, each with a purse of $50,000. The Open Trot and Filly & Mare Open Trot are scheduled for Friday, July 29, while the Open Pace and Filly & Mare Open Pace will be raced Saturday as part of the rich Adios card, which will feature more than $1 million in purses.
The order of preference for the Opens is: 1) Pennsylvania-sired horses; 2) Pennsylvania-owned horses; 3) Open horses. To enter, or for more information, contact the Meadows race office at 724-225-9897.
