Morrison Wins May Zoom Challenge

Congratulations to Madonna Morrison of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on winning the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s 'Frisky Foals' Zoom Challenge.

For the month of May we asked Fan Club members to submit photos of foals and the frisky things that they have been getting up to this spring. Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit their photos!

Madonna’s photo is of Marine Band, a colt born March 29 at 3:15 a.m. He is a rambunctious little guy who loves to kick his feet up in the air and be independent. Morrison was able to capture his lively personality in this photo at Meridian Farms in Milton, PE.

“He's always getting himself into trouble because he likes to run off without mom,” Madonna explained.

We would also like to thank and congratulate our other Zoom finalists for their submissions:

► Photo #1: Glidemaster filly “Diana” taken by Fran Caron of Wasaga Beach, ON
► Photo #2: At Least Im Pretty running alongside her dam, Evalina and rider Alina MacLeod; taken by Melissa Hutchinson of Aldergrove, BC
► Photo #4: Mare and foal at Outlaw Stable; taken by Marc Sabraw of Acme, AB
►Photo #5: Junior rolling while Elena looks on; taken at the Mother’s Day Open House event at High Stakes Farm; captured by Leanne Silverthorne of Dundas, ON

To celebrate the upcoming Regional Driving Championships in June and July, we have chosen ‘Driver Fever’ as June’s Zoom Challenge theme. We are looking for photos of drivers in action, either racing, getting prepared in the paddock or warming-up in the post parade. We want to see shots of your favourite drivers!

So, get out there and start snappin’ some photos of your favorite driver in action! Please send your photo submissions to [email protected]. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. (EST).

A committee will select a handful of the best entries, which will be included in a poll on SC’s website. We’ll also post the entries on our Facebook page. Readers will then have the chance to vote for the finalist photo they like the best.
