The time has come again for nominations to be made for the Saugeen Claiming Series

The series is for Ontario-sired pacers that are non-winners of $35,000 in lifetime earnings as of midnight May 1, 2011, and for pacers that race for a claiming price of $10,000 (plus allowances).
The nomination period will end Saturday, May 28. There is no starting fee for the event, but the nomination fee is $300.
The fillies and mares pacing legs will be raced Wednesday, June 15 and Wednesday, June 22. The colts and geldings will contest legs on Saturday, June 18 and Saturday, June 25. Be advised that due to rules implemented by the Ontario Racing Commission's IM committee --- and in particular, Rule 16.08 --- the purses for the Saugeen Claiming Series' opening legs have been changed to $7,000 in leg one and $8,400 in leg two. The final will still carry a $20,000 (added) purse.
The finals for both the fillies and mares and colts and geldings will head to the gate Saturday, July 2. There will be no claiming in the finals. To be eligible for the final, horses must race in the first leg of the series.
