Pete Davis Passes

After a long battle with cancer, longtime horseman Peter James 'Pete' Davis of Arva, Ont. passed away on Thursday, April 2 in his 81st year.

Pete, an entrepreneur, was also passionately involved in the Standardbred horse industry for many years and campaigned a number of Ontario Sires Stakes horses. Among the standout horses Davis owned and/or trained were Keyed Alike, P J Blaze and Key Table Player.

Reunited with his wife Ellen (née Mills) of 50 years. Loving father of Edward and his wife June, Diane and her husband Paul Miller, and daughter-in-law Rita (Brian). Predeceased by his son Hugh and grandson Roy. Devoted grandfather of PJ (Julie), Jetanne (Adam), Rick (Stephanie), Beth, Randelle and Jay. Proud great-grandfather of Simone, Naomi and James. Dear brother of Norma (late Arnold), Bob (Sylvia), Marie (Bill), the late Floyd (Verna) and the late Ray (late Dorothy).

Visitation will be held on Monday from 7 - 9 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 7 at 3 p.m. Interment at Vinings Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the WallTyme Stables Horsemen Fundraiser (c/o Dave Wall - 10374 Gold Creek Drive, R.R. #4, Komoka, Ontario N0L 1R0) or the Roy Davis Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
