Trot Insider has learned that veteran horseman Istvan ‘Steve’ Fogarasi of Smithville passed away peacefully at Deer Park Villa in Grimsby, Ont. on Saturday, April 4 at the age of 77.
Steve is the beloved husband for 35 years of Kathleen (Kathy) Fogarasi (nee O’Reilly). He will also be missed by his sister, Mary Lang.
Visitation will take place at Merritt Funeral Home, located at 287 Station Street in Smithville on Friday, April 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, located at 216 Station Street in Smithville on Monday, April 10 at 11 a.m.
Memorial donations to Deer Park Villa or St. Luke’s Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family and can be made via the funeral home, where messages of condolence can also be left.
