The weather was cold but the reception was warm, as Ontario Racing Program’s Implementation and Monitoring (IM) Group met with members of Rideau Carleton’s racing community on March 1

.

“Horsepeople at Rideau are the same as every track in Ontario,” said Mike Wilson, speaking on behalf of the IM Group. “They speak with a passion and commitment to racing that is evident. We know how busy they are and we appreciate the time they took to meet with us, to ask their questions and to provide their ideas.”

Dialogue with the racing community is an ongoing priority with the IM Group. To date, they have visited Georgian, Western Fair, Flamboro and now Rideau Carleton. It is expected that Kawartha and Windsor will be visited next. The IM Group will release information as the schedule is confirmed.

The mandate of the IM Group is to implement and monitor the elements of the Ontario Racing Program and to ensure the program is flexible enough to change, where the need for change is demonstrated and determined to be warranted.
