Horseman Russell D. Lanpher Sr., 81, of Orland, Maine, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 20 with his loving wife of 62 years, Janice, by his side.
Lanpher was active in the sport for many years as a driver and trainer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Riverside Temple Association, P.O. Box 192, East Orland, ME 04431 or to the Bucksport Fire and Rescue Association, P.O. Box 1848, Bucksport, ME 04416.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Orland.
Arrangements are under the care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, ME.
