COSA's COVID-19 Recommendations

Published: March 18, 2020 05:51 pm EDT

The Central Ontario Standardbred Association (COSA) asks that all horsepeople continue to take precautions to protect themselves from the COVID-19 virus.

  • Keep your distance from people at all times including at race paddocks, training centres and farms.

  • Support the racetrack's Covid-19 virus screening process. If individuals have any flu-like symptoms, fever, cold or other respiratory issues, please do not attempt to go to racetracks.

  • As racetracks move to staggered post times in order to reduce the number of people in race paddocks, please try to limit the time that each horse is in the paddock both before and after that horse races.

  • Please only have essential people in the race paddocks.

"It is critically important that we protect ourselves from the COVID-19 virus while we are caring for our horses," said COSA President Bill O'Donnell.

In addition, if there are questions about shipping horses to or from the U.S. contact: doylebloodstock.ca or 905-628-1366.
