Pocono Offers Text Message Service

Published: March 1, 2013 08:06 pm EST

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Race Office has joined the ever-evolving technology scene with the debut of their Horsemens’ Text Messaging Service.

Updates on race office information, including upcoming deadlines, as well as classes which are short for the day’s draw, will become available instantly with the mass text messaging. This service is open to horsemen who have submitted a completed racing application, and have been accepted to race at Pocono.

Information such as deadlines and races which are short of entries are extremely time-sensitive, and getting these details into the hands of trainers instantly will be as easy as a few key strokes. A text blast with pertinent information will reach all horsemen subscribed to the service, and a trainer with a horse that is interested in entering a race may then call the Race Office to help fill a race.

Subscribing to the service is easy. Horsemen may text the word “Pocono” from their mobile phone to 84700. They will receive a confirmation text with more instructions. Once all instructions are followed, subscribers will receive all text messages generated by the Race Office at Pocono.

There is no charge to subscribe to the service, which is powered by Sumotext. Standard message and data rates charged by your carrier may apply.

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs opens their live racing season on Saturday, March 23. Post Time is 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday for March through May. Fridays are added in June and July. Qualifying days prior to opening are March 12, March 14, and March 21.
