Kim and Randy Haines of Cool Winds Farm, along with Buckeye Breeding in conjunction with Joe Chnapko and Bill Gallagher, are proud to announce that Tom Cango 2,1:57.1f 3,1:53.2 $515,930, the half-brother to Broadway Hall, the sire of 2011 Hambo winner Broad Bahn, will be entering the Ohio stallion ranks for 2012 season

and will be standing in Lima at Cool Winds Farm.

A 13-time winner, and earner of over a half-million dollars, Tom Cango is the fastest, as well as the richest, son of his sire, Tom Ridge. Tom Cango was the winner of his first five starts at two, including the elimination and final of the William Wellwood Memorial at Mohawk Racetrack and a PASS at Pocono Downs. At three, Tom Cango came back and won in 1:53.2 at the Meadowlands Racetrack while also winning the Bluegrass Stakes at the Red Mile and had numerous placings in other Grand Circuit events.

“Not only was Tom Cango an exceptional two-year-old, he is super sire Broadway Hall's half brother. We couldn’t get Broadway Hall here, so we got the next best thing! Not to mention at just a fraction of the service fee,” said Lynn Keller, managing partner of Buckeye Breeding. “We looked long and hard at numerous stallions, and came to the simple conclusion that after talking with Jim Campbell, (Tom Cango's) trainer at two and three, and Bill Gallagher, his trainer as an aged horse, that not only is Tom Cango an exceptional-looking horse, but also a bigger, more striking individual than his brother, Broadway Hall.

"We all believe Tom Cango is perfect for the Ohio market. We see big things happening in Ohio. Breeding to Tom Cango gives those who are willing to breed in Ohio not only the chance for exceptional Ohio Sire Stakes horses, but the extreme possibility of Grand Circuit horses as well. Not to mention that with interest from breeders not only in Ohio, but New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida and Kentucky as well, we aren’t the only ones thinking that way.”

Entering 2012, Tom Cango will be standing his first season at the introductory service fee of $2,500. Multiple mare and loyalty discounts may apply. Videos, breeding and contracts can be viewed at either 200trot.com or coolwindsfarm.com.
