Standardbred breeder/owner/horseman Melvin ‘Mel’ Gilbert passed away on Tuesday (November 28) at the age of 77.
Gilbert passed due to heart failure.
He loved racing horses and playing golf.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Sally; and sons, Craig (Karen) and Brian (Maria). He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim; mother, Wilma; and father, Henry.
Services are planned for a later date.
