The seventh annual Make a Difference Charity Event, hosted by Saratoga Casino and Raceway, will present 32 local charitable organizations with donations to support their initiatives in the coming year
. Cheques totaling $125,000 will be given away at the event, which is to be held on Tuesday, December 6 inside Vapor Night Club.
In 2010, Saratoga Casino and Raceway gave $100,000 to 24 local charities during its sixth annual Make A Difference event. The increase in funding this year is due in part to the casino's success over the past year, paired with their desire to help the organizations that have done so much to aid the local flood victims.
"In our area, it is rare that we experience losses as extraordinary as the flooding that occurred this year. We are delighted to support the organizations that are going above and beyond to rescue and rebuild the communities affected by these natural disasters," said Jamie Hartman, Saratoga Casino and Raceway’s executive vice president and COO. "Furthermore, we applaud the commitment of all the charities included. Their tireless efforts accomplish so much to improve the lives of our employees, families, friends, neighbors and communities."
