Balanchine has been labelled as the front runner in the featured event Saturday afternoon at Red Shores' Charlottetown Driving Park.
First-race post time for the 13-dash card is 1:00 p.m.
Balanchine, trained by Jackie Matheson and driven by Brodie MacPhee, has drawn the outside Post 8 in the power-packed field. The son of Blissful Hall is owned by Mike Pollard of Stratford and Joey Gallant of Charlottetown.
The trot division will be headlined by Diana Car and Marc Campbell. The mare is 5-2 on the morning line and gets of the services of Marc Campbell, the top driver in the region.
Campbell is on top of the 'Mr. Trot Challenge' leaderboard with 215 points. Campbell, who just turned 28 on Wednesday, also ended the season at Red Shores Summerside as the 'top gun,' and he is now in range to catch his own most-wins-in-a-single-season record at CDP.
Campbell wrapped the 2011 season with 122 victories. He heads into Saturday’s program with 107 wins, just 15 away from tying his record with seven cards remaining.
