Retirement Foundation Seeks Help

The Standardbred Retirement Foundation is looking for shipping assistance on Saturday, October 17 to transport horses seeking a home to the Adoption Fair co-sponsored by the USTA and the Harness Racing Museum in Goshen, New York.

The SRF has a truck and two-horse trailer to ship two horses to Goshen Historic Track, where they will be seen by prospective adopters. However, they would like to ship four horses, to double the potential number of horses finding homes through that event. Those that would like to help can do so in three ways. They can ship two horses in their own rig, ship all four horses if they have a rig of sufficient size, or provide a tax deductible donation to be used to hire a commercial shipper, if necessary.

The horses would need to leave the SRF farm in Hamilton, New Jersey (near Allentown) at about 9:00 a.m. and depart Goshen at about 3:00 p.m., to arrive in Hamilton at about 5:00 p.m. Lunch in Goshen will provided for those who help with shipping.

If you might be able to provide this assistance that could result in horses finding a home, please contact Jennifer Nagle at the SRF at 609-324-1500 or by email at [email protected].
