Frank Stacey Passes

Trot Insider has learned that longtime Standardbred racehorse owner Frank Stacey passed away in Oshawa, Ont. on December 30, 2015 at the age of 94.

Stacey, who was born in Ingersol, Ont., spent six years and 10 days in the Service of Canada, both in Canada and in Europe. He sang in the GM Choir, Whitby Jubilee Choir, and St. Mark’s Choir.

Frank is survived by his son Clayton (Joyce), daughter Frances Fita (Rick), Grandchildren Scott, Andrew, Aaron, Jeff, Victoria and Great Grandchildren Cora, Kyle, Andrea, Kayla, Jack and Ryan.

Thanks to Barbara Breckenridge who helped Frank in his latter years as a friend, lunch companion, driver and confidant. Thanks to the staff on 7C for taking such good care of Dad.

A service will be held at St. Marks United Church, 201 Centre Street South, Whitby on Saturday, January 9 at 1 p.m., with visitation from 12 noon until time of service. A reception in the church hall will follow the service.

If so desired, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Society, or Charity of Your Choice.
