Law Joins Horse Adoption Board

Heading for Home Racehorse Retraining and Adoption Center is pleased to announce Tom Law as the latest appointee to its Board of Directors.

"Tom embodies the spirit of the racing industry and he is a dedicated advocate for the horses," stated Heading for Home President and Board Chair Joseph Battaglia. "He brings talent, expertise and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have him join our team."

Law is the managing editor of ST Publishing Inc., publishers of the popular daily racing paper The Saratoga Special and a variety of other projects.

Law grew up in Saratoga Springs and got his start in journalism and covering racing at The Saratogian before leaving for Lexington, Ky. in 1998 to begin a more than 14-year stint at Thoroughbred Times.

Law served six years as president of the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters and is a winner of the Eclipse Award (2011), Red Smith Kentucky Derby Writing Award (2003) and Bill Leggett Breeders' Cup Magazine Writing Award (2000, 2005) for his coverage of Thoroughbred racing. Through his role at ST Publishing, Tom is also senior writer at Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred Magazine.

Law lives in his hometown, Saratoga Springs, with his wife, Elizabeth Collins.
