Pinner Looking To Extend Streak

On Saturday, January 18 at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park, Pinner will line up for the feature race and will be looking to record his ninth win in a row.

The 13-dash card will kick off at 1 p.m. Pinner’s dash carries a $2,000 purse and has been carded as Race 11.

Pinner, a son of Mach Three, is showing no signs of slowing down for his connections – driver Marc Campbell, trainer and co-owner Brian Ladner and co-owners Kevin and Lillian Ladner.

Pinner’s main competition will come from Miracle Matts (to be driven by Corey MacPherson). Miracle Matts was closed well to finish second in last week’s feature event. Cambest Kisser also looks like he could be a contender. Cambest Kisser will have Kenny Arsenault sub in for absent trainer Jason Hughes. Other entries include McJestic (Brodie MacPhee), Nobestbfor (Walter Cheverie) and Panacotta (Blaine Baglole).

A full field of eight will contest the $1,800 Open Trot (Race 4). Zip The Lip has been tabbed as the morning line favourite from Post 5 for driver Brian MacPhee and O’Leary co-owners Donald Sweet – who also trains – and Orville Willis.

The $1,750 back-up pace (Race 7) has Veronicavermillion (Brodie MacPhee) favoured over Van Zant (Ron Matheson) and McMaverick (Ken Murphy).
