Good Things Come In Threes

Saturday night saw three trainers across the country dominate their tracks' cards with three or more wins each.

At Fraser Downs, trainer Bill Davis sent four winners postward, giving him a total of 2,837 lifetime wins.

Davis, a resident of Langley, B.C., sat in the bike for all four wins. Il Dolce triumphed in the opener (1:58.3), Vaminos Diablo took the third race (1:57.2), Bluebird Corvette scored in race five (1:57.4) and Witty Scholar dominated in the ninth race (1:57).

At Hiawatha Horse Park, Dan Taneyhill met up with three of his trainees in the winner's circle.

The Swartz Creek, Michigan resident, who has 86 training wins to his name, paired up with driver Marc St Louis, Jr. for his first two wins. Electric Gladiator took the first race (1:57) and Party N Get Lucky won the one and one-quarter mile sixth race (2:29.4).

Taneyhill closed the 12-race card with Rated Well (1:57.2), driven by Mark MacQuarrie.

At Exhibiton Park Raceway, three of trainer Earl Fram's pupils were prosperous, giving him a total of 384 lifetime wins.

In the second race, Mark Haig drove Bold Ryan to victory (2:01.2), while Sam Hodgins sat in the bike for the Saint John, New Brunswick trainer in the tenth race with Island Eagle (2:00.4). In the following race, Dusty Lane Oscar prevailed with Lonny Stokes (2:02.3).
