It was Pennsylvania Sires Stakes championship day at Harrah’s Chester Racetrack on Sunday afternoon, with a quartet of $200,000 finals

for freshmen trotters and pacers.

Beatgoeson Hanover extended her winning streak to four-in-a-row after scoring in a career-best and track record clocking of 1:56.1. The trotting daughter of Andover Hall-Beat The Wheel led her freshmen foes through intervals of :29.1, :58.4 and 1:26.3 before cruising home in :29.3 to seal the deal. Ron Pierce engineered the win with the Richard “Nifty” Norman trainee, who defeated Celebrity Katie and Dont Blink.

Sent off as the 1-2 favourite, Beatgoeson Hanover bumped her lifetime earnings to $166,346 with the victory. She is owned by Nevin Botica of Perth, AUS.

Cold Mist needed every inch of the racetrack to take home top prize in the final for the pacing fillies. Brett Miller carved out a sweet pocket trip for the Steve Elliott-trained daughter of Mcardle-Cold And Clear, and she found late clearance to prevail by a nose over In Deep Thought in a time of 1:54.1. It was a half-length back to third-place finisher Hasty Pulse.

Purchased for a mere $7,000 at last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale by Elliott and the partnership of the Old Block Stables Inc and Kenneth Klein, Cold Mist has put together a 2-2-1 record in her first seven starts while banking more than $175,000 along the way.

Not Nice earned a new speed badge of 1:56.3 in the final for the trotting colts and geldings. The son of Glidemaster-Justgotafeeling turned in an impressive rally to win by 2-1/2 lengths over Orlando, with Luckycharm Hanover finished third.

Yannick Gingras guided the Jimmy Takter pupil to his third win of the campaign in just seven tries. Purchased for $40,000 at last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale, Not Nice has managed to pot $183,408 to date for the partnership of Christina Takter, Falkbolagen Ab, Order By Stable and Daniel Plouffe.

Wink N Atcha was much the best in the final for the colt and gelding pacers. The George Teague Jr.-trained son of Dragon Again-Kiss My Lips sat third to the quarter pole for driver Brian Sears before brushing to the top before the half. He clicked off middle splits of :56 and 1:23 before using a :28.4 final quarter to win by 4-1/4 lengths in a career-best clocking of 1:51.4. Mr Carmine Fra was second and Mystic Desire finished third.

George Teague Jr Inc, Ted Gewertz, Gustis Teague and Paisano Stable shelled out $40,000 to purchase the colt at last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale, and Sunday’s score bumped his overall bankroll to $220,678.
