The ballots are in and the finalists have been drawn for the 2019 Win A Share in a Racehorse contest with a Grand Prize of one share in Landmark 13 Stable. (value: $2,000)
This is the third year that Standardbred Canada and the Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) have partnered on this contest and entry was available to Ontario residents who have never owned a Standardbred before. Ballots were available at racetracks hosting Ontario Sires Stakes events between Aug. 15 and Sept. 12 with online contest entry at standardbredcanada.ca from Sept. 1 through Sept. 12.
Ten finalists were drawn from all entries. One OSS Grassroots Championship race will be selected from the Oct. 5 card of racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and the 10 finalists will each be paired with one of the starters in the selected race.
The draw to match the finalists with the horses will take place as part of the Woodbine Mohawk Park Racing Live show before the card between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.
The finalist paired with the winning horse will win the “Win A Share” contest and the share in Landmark 13 Stable, just in time to go horse shopping at the 2019 edition of the London Selected Yearling Sale on October 19 and 20.
