Driver Keith Kash, Jr., competing at Colonial Downs for the first time ever this fall, scored a driving triple during Thursday’s 10-race card and escaped injury when he took a ninth race spill

With two wins in the meet’s first three race days, Kash had eight drives scheduled on Thursday. In the third race, he directed I Told Gordy to his third straight win after a nice pocket trip thru the first three fractions. The five-year-old Cams Card Shark gelding came outside in the straightaway and overtook Blue Punch to win by two lengths in 1:51.4. Trainer Julianne Bobby trains the I Told Gordy for Thomas Swann. The winner returned $5.60.
In the fifth, Kash guided Chisum to his seventh win in the pacer’s last eight starts, including his second straight at the young Colonial meet. Thursday’s wire- to-wire effort duplicated Saturday’s effort, though the 1:52.1 clocking beat Saturday’s by three full seconds. The seven-year-old Western Spirit gelding has wired the field in each of those seven victories. Chisum, who is trained and owned by Harla Loney, returned $6.60.
Kash completed his hat track in the eighth aboard All This Snazz, who dominated the six-horse field of trotters after charging from fifth to the top spot after turning for home. The eight-year-old Loge gelding, who won for just the second time this year, crossed in 1:55.4, five and a half lengths better than runner-up Beautiful Legacy. The victor paid $16.
In the next race, Kash's Docs Cousin David broke stride in mid-stretch and locked wheels with Gerald Longo’s Cowboy Jack, unseating both drivers. Kash got up quickly and actually drove in the next race, while Longo stood up and walked off with assistance after several minutes. Both horses appeared to be unharmed.
