As the field headed to three-quarters in 1:26.2, Desperatehousewife moved into the outer flow and was spotted second-over in fifth. She unleashed a :28.2 final quarter to sweep past the field in the stretch and post a 1:56.1 victory by three and three-quarter lengths.

Gostreet (Lyle MacArthur) came on for second and Lady Gambler grabbed the show spot.

Ratchford also trains the winner of eight races in 20 starts this season for owners Jean MacDonell of Nichols, New York, Wayne Corini of Rockville, Maryland and Scott Jaconetty of San Jose, California. Deperatehousewife’s 41st lifetime victory lifted her earnings to $318,984.
